Wedding photo booth ideas beyond the familiar strip

Guests know the usual photo booth routine: choose a prop, pose in front of the backdrop, watch the countdown, and collect a strip. MyPortraitBooth begins with 3,000+ custom portrait ideas, so each group can choose something different.

01

Why the familiar booth remains popular

It is easy to explain, widely available, and sometimes bundled with the DJ. Most guests already understand the backdrop, props, countdown, and strip.

Compare traditional print booths, glam booths, 360 video booths, Polaroid stations, portrait corners, and MyPortraitBooth by what guests do and what they receive.

  • Classic strips for a quick, familiar photo
  • Glam portraits for one consistent finish
  • 360 video for movement and social sharing
  • Polaroids for a casual guest book activity
  • Portrait corners for conventional photography
  • MyPortraitBooth for individually chosen full-size portraits

02

What guests do at MyPortraitBooth

MyPortraitBooth starts at CAD $2,500 before tax for three event hours. Guests choose from 3,000+ portrait ideas, and both founders run the booth from photography through pickup.

Guests pose on their own or with a group, approve the portrait before it prints, and receive one full-size 6×8 copy each.

03

Questions to ask any vendor

Before comparing prices, make sure the proposals include the same things. Ask what is physically printed, whether an attendant is present throughout, how groups are handled, how guests receive files, what the venue must provide, and what happens if equipment or internet access fails.

  • What size is the finished print?
  • Does every person in a group receive one?
  • Is the station actively staffed?
  • Can guests approve the result?
  • Are setup and breakdown included?
  • What happens if service is interrupted?

04

Fit it into the reception

Plan the booth around dinner, speeches, and dancing. Confirm its location, opening time, guest instructions, pickup area, and enough hours for the expected group sizes.

Guests can browse by QR before the wedding or at the reception. A screen at the booth and personal help are also available at the booth.
